Educational Programs
Leadership Development– Much of our success hinges on the strong leadership of trained, skilled and competent managers. We select the most talented healthcare professionals and help each one build an individual development plan to improve his/her leadership and technical skills. Managers attend leadership development classes, participate in book clubs, and have “buddies” to go to when they have questions and need advice.
HealthStream – This is an internet-based education and assessment tool. Annual classes are identified each year for you to complete. These courses include topics regulatory training such as Fire, Infection Control, Abuse and Neglect, Ergonomics, as well as many clinical topics. HealthStream has a multiple purpose: enabling online training (including CEU credit), easy and convenient classroom enrollment, and providing a transcript to document all completed coursework.
In-Service Education – In-services are offered to all staff. Topics are selected through needs assessment and have varying formats. For your convenience, we offer a multitude of training online through HealthStream.
Life Support Certification – We offer Healthcare Provider BLS classes and BLS recertification classes regularly. ACLS and PALS classes are also provided throughout the year. These offerings assure skill and proficiency of our staff and opportunities for members of our community. Specialty training such as fetal monitoring is also offered. Classes are free for employees.
Tuition Reimbursement –
ConSern® Education Resource – Affordable loans and scholarships are available to HCA-affiliated employees and their family members. With the ConSern® Education Program, you or any member of your family can borrow for private (K-12), undergraduate, and professional education. You can also consolidate all your education loans and expenses.
iStudySmart – Through HCA's partnership with iStudySmart.com, you can take college courses online at a fraction of normal college tuition. iStudySmart is one of the nation's premier providers of online studies, offers courses covering areas such as business, social sciences, natural sciences, humanities and nursing. You are eligible to use this program to supplement a college degree program at a local college or university or to work toward an accredited online degree earned completely from your home computer.
Kaplan Test Prep Courses – HCA has partnered with Kaplan Test Preparation, the world's leader in test preparation and admissions consulting, to offer you and your immediate family members a discount on its courses. You can receive $75 off all Kaplan's classroom courses and 10% off Kaplan's online test prep courses. Kaplan's courses prepare people for college and graduate school entrance exams, English proficiency exams and professional licensure exams for medicine, nursing, pharmacy and dentistry.
Financial Education- On-site financial workshops are offered throughout the year, free to all employees and family members. Past topics have included, "Buying & Selling a Home," "Investing for the Clueless," and "Estate Planning."
Financial Counseling- Periodically, free one-on-one meetings are available with financial experts to discuss your personal financial needs and questions.
Financial Knowledge Center- This website, accessed through www.hcarewards.com, will help you gain the knowledge, tools, and confidence to build life-long financial stability. If you are unable to attend a classroom session for financial education, videos of the classes are also available on this website.
