Employee Dispute Resolution Process

A formal dispute resolution process, designed to make sure you have the opportunity to openly discuss any concerns, is now available. This four-step process includes working with supervisors, HR, our leadership team and a panel of your fellow employees. Here’s an overview of the steps.

  1. Discuss problem with your supervisor
  2. Appeal supervisor’s decision to department head
  3. If the dispute is related to an action involving termination of employment or loss of pay, appeal the department head’s decision to a peer review panel
  4. Appeal department head or peer review panel’s decision to the CEO

You may use steps 1, 2, and 4 of the dispute resolution process for any employment related problem.  Disputes that are appealed to the peer review panel (step 3) must be related to termination of employment or loss of status or pay.

A Peer Review Panel is made up of five hospital employees randomly selected from a list of trained volunteers having a minimum of one year employment and no current written disciplinary actions. A majority vote, or 3 of the 5 members, determines the panel’s decision. To add your name to the list of volunteers, see your human resources department or click here for an application.
